The girls had a treat today scavenging and digging for worms as I started getting their digs ready for two sisters coming later this week. The snow pushed our timeline off by about two weeks but we’ll be ready!

Welcome! It is so special to me that you have stumbled into our world. Erik and I have been wading through homesteading, mini-farming, hobby gardening on steroids for a few years. Becoming as self-sufficient and self-reliant as possible are truly values we embrace with everything we do. We don't have everything figured out, in fact it's quite the opposite. I have found the longer we do this (whatever you want to call it) the more we become impassioned to learn more. I struggle daily with a crippling pain condition called RSD (or CRPS). I have had to learn different techniques and approaches in order to get things done but not end up in the hospital or in my bed for a week. Although it is a curse, it is also a trigger to get me more involved in reiki, essential oils, herbs as supplements to what the doctors do. There is no cure for RSD so there is just the fight in me to keep me going; and boy am I a fighter!!! On a happier note, I love to garden, craft, bake, cook, and preserve. My condition has made us all the more committed to our lifestyle and it's a lifestyle I love! We'd love some feedback as we begin our next journey into blogging. We're looking forward to sharing our ideas, ideas of others, and learning from you because that's how we as a people will survive; by listening and learning (and smiling.)
